What to do with your pumpkin after Halloween?

Here’s an original idea you just might not have thought of. My young grandson may have triggered his father’s plan and helped with the end result as well. You may even want to try this with your own jack-o-lanterns sometime. You’re sure to get a laugh. At least from the kids.

These pictures were taken from my daughter’s blog, HAND+SEED. I just added a few descriptive lines of poetry, depicting the end of my grandson’s Halloween jack-o-lantern.

Recycle it into something sweet, to share Thanksgiving Day?

Or wait until it rots outside, then throw the mess away?

Michael thinking “outside the box,” did something else instead.

My daughter, K.L. Andersen has a clever take on the versatile pumpkin. Yet her Scottish husband doesn’t understand American’s obsession with this fruit. Michael, her husband, does, have a good sense of humor! He also has a great recipe for pumpkin soup!

Read this and other interesting stories on her unique international food blog, Hand and Seed. She features worldwide growers and their unusual crops, plus international chefs who contribute their flavorful and sometimes unusual, recipes.
